Ecco un altro lavoro autoprodotto che ci arriva da Roma e si va ad
aggiungere alla rappresentanza degli album reggae italiani di questo 1996.
Jahng e' una formazione in attivita' dagli inizi degli anni '90 ed e'
arrivata ora al primo lavoro, ambiziosamente autoprodotto su CD. A dare
loro un contributo determinante troviamo al mixaggio D.raD di Almamegretta,
e la sua presenza e' decisamente avvertibile. Nove brani (compresi 3 dubs
uno dei quali originale) di ispirazione digital roots tra cui non esito
a segnalarvi "Etiopia", il roots lovers "True love" e l'esplosivo dub
originale "Your way", in cui si ritrovano tracce di On-U-Sound in particolare
e comunque delle attuali sonorita' digital dub in genere. Concludendo
con il gioco dei pregi e difetti, una piccola carenza sta in alcuni episodi
non originalissimi e nei testi in genere un po' inferiori alle idee musicali,
mentre il grande pregio sta proprio nella forza e nell'equilibrio dell'album
e nella ricercatezza dei suoni.

Here is another self produced work coming from Rome, that is going to
be added to the lot of Italian reggae albums of 1996. Jahng was founded
at the beginning of the 90's and this is their first self produced record,
issued on CD. The whole work is mixed by Almamegretta's D.raD and his
presence is finally recognizable. On the CD there are nine songs (including
two dub versions and an original dub). Between these nine songs I want
to mention "Etiopia", the roots-lovers oriented "True love" and the strong
original dub "Your way", in wich you can recognize some On-U-Sound (or
generally digital dub) influences. If I have to say the values and the
lacks, a little lack is in some songs a little under the average, and
in the lyrics more feeble than the music. The good value is in the big
strenght and in the great balance of the album and in the refinement of
the sounds.
